Strawberry chia pudding topped with berries, bananas, and cereal make this smoothie bowl a kid favorite! With no added sugar and packed with fruit, its a breakfast you can feel good about serving.
I have yet to jump on the smoothie bowl bandwagon, so I thought it was time! I wanted to find a smoothie bowl full of kid friendly ingredients. February’s Recipe ReDux theme is to “Breakout of Breakfast Boredom”, so I wanted to make something that we’ve never had before. When it comes to breakfast my family is BO-RING. They eat oatmeal and bananas everyday. Doesn’t get much more boring than that! I’ve tried many times to mix it up and give them cereal, waffles, or yogurt, but inevitably they will just ask me where their oatmeal is. What can I say, they love routine when it comes to breakfast!
I knew to get the family interested in breaking out of their oatmeal rut I would need to fill these smoothie bowls with all of their favorites. I blended almond milk, strawberries, dates, and chia seeds together and let it sit in the fridge overnight and then topped it with berries, bananas, and cheerios. The great thing about smoothie bowls is they can be customized easily. Just make your smoothie base and then top it with ALL your faves! It’s time to breakout of your breakfast rut. 🙂
