The seed used in a hydro seeder does not require any special characteristics. Almost any seed can be applied at the same rate as other seeding techniques. These may consist of grass or lawn seeds, wildflowers, pasture seed, seed for athletic fields, and erosion-control seeds such as crown vetch.
