How do you germinate seeds of red clover?
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPROUTING CLOVER SEEDS – Remove any debris or floating particles from 2 teaspoons of clover seeds by rinsing. Place clover seeds in a one-quart jar or other container for sprouting. Add 14 to 12 cup of cold water, cover with a growing screen or mesh lid, and soak for eight hours or overnight.

- Remove all water from the seeds.
- Invert the jar at an angle over a basin so that the seeds may drain and air can circulate.
- After approximately 8 hours, rinse and drain again.2-3 times every day, repeat the rinsing and draining process.
In around three days, sprouts should start to develop. Once sprout tails show, transfer the sprout container to indirect light to promote the development of green leaves. Avoid direct sun exposure. Continue washing and draining 2-3 times each day for an additional 2 to 3 days, or until sprouts reach a height of around 3 inches.
It is also highly favoured by deer compared to other common deer forages, and its resistance to intensive grazing makes it ideal for tiny plots and places with a high deer density. In well-managed plots, the crude protein content of red clover can easily approach 25 to 30 percent.
Is red clover superior to white clover?
Red clover often fixes more nitrogen than white Dutch clover, so it can fertilize your soil more effectively for other grasses. The more nitrogen clover fixes, the healthier your grass will be without the need for artificial fertilizer.
