The leaves of the Wingstem plant are becoming white. Why? (photography courtesy of Kate St. John) Along the trails of western Pennsylvania in the months of July and August, I came across something that I had never seen before and that was the sporadic occurrence of leaves turning white.
The tops of the leaves, and even whole branches, had previously been green, but now they were white.
